For over 15 years, Gretchen Picotte has worked in Florida politics, founding Political Capital, LLC in 2007 while serving as Florida Finance Director for the Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee. During her management of the statewide fundraising apparatus, she led all Presidential candidates in the State of Florida for five consecutive quarters.

Most recently, Picotte managed all of the Florida fundraising for the Speaker of the House, John Boehner and the National Republican Congressional Committee. As the senior consultant in Florida she managed all of the Speaker’s event in the state.

For the 2012 election cycle, Picotte was the lead finance consultant for Adam Hasner’s campaign for US Senate, and subsequently US House, in which over $3.3 million was raised. Picotte and her team also ran the finance operations for Freedom PAC – a super PAC whose primary focus was to support Connie Mack for US Senate, which raised over $3 million, and Jeff Brandes for State Senate raising hard and soft dollars over $2 million.

 

During the 2011-12 Presidential Primary, Picotte served as the senior Florida Finance consultant for Governor Tim Pawlenty’s bid for President and later for Governor Rick Perry’s campaign for President.

In 2010, Picotte participated in a fundraising team for the Florida Governor’s race for then Attorney General Bill McCollum during the Primary Election, and then for now Governor Rick Scott in the General Election, raising over $25 million in each election cycle. Additionally, she participated in the Inaugural fundraising team for Governor Scott raising nearly $5 million.

 

Picotte's career in politics began in 1994 as Legislative Assistant to State Representative Bill Sublette. After serving as Campaign Manager for the Bill Sublette Florida House campaign in 1997, Picotte went to work on the Mel Martinez for Orange County Chairman campaign as the Director of Finance and Scheduling. Picotte later served as Director of Development at the Orlando Science Center where she directed all aspects of government and community relations, in addition to achieving revenue goals of over $2 million.

 

In 2003 and 2004, she served as Regional Finance Director for Bill McCollum for US Senate. Picotte played a key role in building relationships and communicating the campaign message with key statewide leaders to raise over $2 million out of a total $4 million campaign budget. After the 2004 election, Picotte served as Finance Director for State Representative Randy Johnson's statewide campaign for Chief Financial Officer, a Florida Cabinet seat, raising over $1.6 million.

 

Prior to founding Political Capital, Picotte served as Finance Director for Congressman Clay Shaw's re-election campaign in 2006. While with Shaw, Picotte executed events with notables such as First Lady Laura Bush, Governor Jeb Bush, Former First Lady Barbara Bush and Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani.

Picotte is a graduate of the University of South Florida and holds a B.S. in Communications.

 

She resides in Jacksonville with her husband and two children.
